ALL DONE!

Handed in both my publication and my website today
I'm really proud with them both. I'm so glad I'm doing art as one of my majors. It given me a chance to learn about new programs that I would otherwise know nothing about.
I love dream weaver and think that its going to really help me in the future.
I'm still not 100% with indeign but I do understand why it has become so popular.
Thanks again for everything Stuart

Well came into class on Friday with my page full of questions ready to annoy Stuart and I'm told that his away. At first I'm like what? two weeks in a row that's weird. But no again I got my dates confused and the week before when I decided to stay home and work on my stuff Stuart was there.

I'm starting to really enjoy using dream weaver. With my good friend google I'm finding it much easier to use the coding rather then the design window.
Indesign is coming along too! Still need a little bit of help with a few things but its looking ok

Thursday night

My fingers are about to fall off from all the clicking I'm doing in dream weaver.
My website is really coming along. I have all my pages linked together and all my images in. All I have to do now is make is look nice. I can't figure out how to add a plain colour to the background and I have watched hours of you tube dream weaver videos!!!
Indesign is not being nice. I'm finding it really hard to do anything on that program.
Beware Stuart I'm coming into class tomorrow with a page of questions

getting there

Decided not to go into class this week
Stuart wasn't going to be there and I have all the programs on my pc at home so I thought to would save travelling time and work on my computer at home in my pjs :)
Got alot of work done. I did come across a few issues but managed to figure them out myself.
I'm a little confused about when all of this is due. Is it due this friday 15th or next friday the 22nd of may? If someone could help me out that would be great!

Slow crap Internet!!!

I could really related to what Stuart was saying this week. With capped Internet I have move from fast broadband back to 56 k dial up. If a web page has any images it takes about 5 hours to download. Turning off the images... why didn't I think about that!!
Thinking about the 9 sec or 20 seconds on a microwave. It's true people don't want to work that hard. I'm going to keep that in mind when I'm working on the design of my website.

Missed two classes because of family things and now im not sure what im doing
I know I have missed all the information on making websites and I'm sure something is due on friday but I dont know what

Holidays!!!!!

It's been awhile... thought it was about time I posted some updates on how my final piece is going. Finding it really hard to get motivated and do some uni work on the holidays!! All I want to do is relax!
I think i'm heading in the right directions. I have collected up all my information I need and made a decision about the layout of my pamphlet. All I have to do now is get onto the computer.
By my next post I should of startedworking on the computer or else time is going to run out!

Week 5

This week has been really good. I have made a decision to do a pamphlet for my final piece of work. Main reason is my friend has just started a not for profit organisation that raises money for orphanages in Kenya. She wants to use this pamphlet to get the word out.
This week I have spent most of my time collecting different style pamphlets from different places.
Some of the questions I have are:
-What is a good size for a pamphlet?
-Layouts (way it folds together)?
-What colours are eye catching?
-How to put text and images together on the pamphlet?
Over the next week I am going to work on my visual diary and come up with different layouts. I really want to have an idea about what I want it to look like before I jump onto the computer.

Struggling here to make my cv's interesting!!!
I want to keep it clean and simple but also have something that will pull the reader in
any ideas?

Week Three

Enjoyed this class. My style of teaching (hands on)
Learning through trail and error.
This week I'm going to be playing around more with Indesign and finishing off my cv's but I am sure by week 12 I'm going to change them.
Also I'm still working on ideas for my final project. On my last trip to San Francisco I took some really good photos of the street art. I'm thinking about using this somehow maybe a book or short story

Week two

This is my first week in digital publication. The things I enjoyed about this class was being introduced to a new program Indesign. We started off the class with some basic introductions such as how to open a new document and how to use the tool bar
TASK: to create a CV using only one page and font. I really enjoyed creating this CV because it gave me the freedom to learn through doing. We also had a discussion about the importance of font. Comic sans is not a good font to use in a CV because it is not formal enough
This week I want to start thinking about what I am going to do for my final piece.
